Things to do in Durban & Umhlanga

A holiday in Umhlanga will very literally will keep you as busy or as relaxed as you want. Locally there are the golden sands of Umhlanga Beach & Lagoon to spent unhurried days in the warm sand and surf. Just a 4 minute drive away is Gateway Theatre of Shopping, the largest mall in the southern hesmisphere. You can shop, eat, watch a movie, climb a wall, surf or even abseil. There are 5 world class golf courses within easy drine from our B&B, These are Zimbali, Mount Edgecombe, Umhlali, Beechwood and the Durban Country Club.

Further afield is Durban and all the wonders of the Rainbow Nation. Zulu and Indian Cultures blend in the holiday atmosphere. Spend a day at Ushaka Marine World, there are some fantastic bargains to be had. Just outside Durban you can visit Zulu Villages on the Midlands Meander. Go to our local game reserve and see Africa's game at it's best. It's very literally up to you.

Directions From Durban
Follow the M4 north until you come to the the Umhlanga off-ramp. Take this off-ramp and turn right at the junction into Umhlanga Rocks Drive. At the 2nd set of traffic lights turn right into Ridge Road. Continue along this road for about 1.5 km and you will see Burnham Drive on the right. Once you pass Chartwell Drive, we are the next turning.

Directions From Johannesburg
From the N3 approaching Durban, take a left turn off to the N2 (North Coast). Follow the N2 until you come to the Umhlanga Rocks (M41) off-ramp. Take this off-ramp and turn right onto the M41 at the traffic light. After 200 meters take the Umhlanga Rocks Drive turn-off. Turn left at the traffic light and continue along Umhlanga Rocks Drive. At the 2nd turning circle, just before the Sharks Board, turn right (3rd exit) and continue down the hill along Umhlanga Rocks Drive. At the third set of robots, turn right into Ridge Road. Continue along this road for about 1.5 km and you will see Burnham Drive on the right. Once you pass Chartwell Drive, we are the next turning.
